Being a rider has a different feeling altogether when you decide to ride to the place which is most talked but needed a date to do the ride. Finally this feeling came to life when we planned a ride to this place after a reformation of the Jaipur chapter.

We had the plan in place and asked for confirmation. Luckily we got 6 riders who would join in. We posted the ride plan on the site and waited for the day to come. Below is the route map of the ride to Ranthambore & back.

On the ride day we were just 3 since others could not make it due to personal reasons. Mahesh bhai was waiting for the rest of the 2, Aman & Me (Gazi).

We started at 0630 am and after 10 kms took a Tea break on the Kota highway, NH 52. See the pic below:

We started the ride on a good note and took the NH 23 from Kothun towards Lalsot covering a distance of 80Kms. After riding for around an hour we reached Lalsot where we took our second stop for some breakfast. Here is the pic of us enjoying Khadi Kachori.

We continued the ride again on SH24 & SH 1 towards Sawai Madhopur. During the ride from the Sawai Madhopur junction to Ranthambore Forest where we encountered a nice off-roading and passing through the villages of Soorwal & Renwal which was a single lane and very narrow road because of which we reached the destination around 1030 am in the morning bringing us to a delay of 30 minutes.

We then went to the ticket counter and found that the counters are closed from 10 am to 2 pm. Unfortunately, we did not do any advance booking so we missed the jungle safari too. We were disappointed and realized we should have taken the highway from Tonk towards Sawai Madhopur so that we reached early.

Nevertheless we sat at the nearby tea stall to have a tea and discuss next thing. Without much delay we decided to go to the Ranthambore fort.
We continued the ride to the Ranthambore fort and the passage to the fort was beautiful with wonderful fauna on both sides of the road. We took couple of photos and moved to the fort. I have the photos of the fort in my camera which I will upload in a day or 2. Here are some of the pics from the passage:

Another one below

We spent around an hour or 2 in the fort and conversed about additional things we can do in the chapter to make it more interesting with focus on maintaining discipline.

Then we thought of starting the return journey since we had to take our lunch as well. We filled up our tanks and started the return journey around 2 pm taking the Sawai Madhopur to Tonk route NH 552. The road was even worst due to pot holes delaying our ride to Tonk to 2 hours from 1 hour. We did a pit stop somewhere near Aligarh and had some juice there. Mahesh bhai after a drink in the pic below:

We continued the ride from Tonk and took the next stop after 30 kms near Niwai where we had some nice parathas, took nature's call and continued the journey. By the time we started from there it was 5 pm already.
We continued and reached Pratap Nagar in Jaipur around 6 pm. We bid bye to each other and dispersed from there to our places. I still had to ride around 20 kms to reach my place. Finally I reached home around 6:45 pm and shared the pics with my wife. Though angry for coming late she made nice masala chai for me. Later I went to shopping with her. It was nice time spent with Aman & Mahesh bhai during the whole ride.
Next time we will plan a night stay ride to some nice place like Jaisalmer in December.

Until then keep riding with IBR… # Hail IBR
