IBRMC Megameet 2013 - Desert Meet - Udaipur
#11
I completely agree with Rob. Leaves would surely play a big spoilsport in the number of participations in the Desert Meet. 3 big rides within a span of 6 months with a combined required leave period of around 40 days is next to impossible for anyone, whosoever.

However, we shall definitely try our best and give it our best shot to make it to the Desert Meet, come what may. I can atleast guarantee my own participation in the Desert Meet for sure. For the rest, I believe, we can't help but just wait and watch!!

See, the time constraint will not hit delhi guys but everyone. That being said, we can always cut down the number of days and keep it as a meet only.  Which means, both Mumbai and Delhi travel to Udaipur (either in 1 day or 1.5) and stay there for 1 day.

Minimum = 1 + 1 + 1 = 3 days (provided the up and down is done in 1 day each)
Medium = 1 + 1 + 2 = 4 days (provided the return takes 2 days. Delhi can halt at Jaipur and Mumbai can halt as Baroda or nearby)
Maximum = 2 + 1 + 2 = 5 days (to and fro = 2 days each)

there will be 2 weekends, so one has to either apply for 1 (min) or 3 (max).

Can't we squeeze out some time from our schedule and keep Desert meet as one of the official rides in October for both Delhi, Mumbai chapters. Of course it's happening in Udaipur so you guys can enjoy the left over days!!!

What say???

Sajeesh...We can decide on the same regarding the number of days. We can reduce it due to the planning for RM14, i agree for the same. Let try to make it a 2 day meet in which 2 days (travel, to & fro) and 2 days in Udaipur.

We can decide on the same....and i will revise the itenary for the same...

Okay, so you mean to say that we make Desert Meet an annual event in the IBR Riding Calendar for atleast Delhi and Mumbai Chapters. Is that right, Chief?

Yeah we can definitely cut down on the number of days. It will definitely increase the number of riders. But then again it doesn't make sense to ride for almost 700 kilometres, spend just one day in the beautiful city of Udaipur with our favourite brothers and then ride back home the very next day.

Personally, I'd prefer it to be atleast for 5 days, if not more. Agreed that it would cut down on the number of riders but will definitely increase the quality of the times we get to spend with each other for whoever is able to make it for the Desert Meet. On the flipside, if we want numbers, then I'd suggest it shouldn't be more than 4 days at the max. so that we have more riders attend the Desert Meet.

The choice is ours!!

I never intended it but yeah it could a great point. we can definitely make it as an annual event (atleast for half part of India with anticipated less participation from down south due to distance).

I suggest we discuss this internally in our chapter meets and come up with to unanimous decision. That being said, let's brainstorm on the best possible itinerary with less number of leaves and mutually agree + confirm.

Now Rachit has surely made a valid point with the leaves..if we start on 12th Oct for 5 days then i see very less trouble arranging off from work. We can Start on 12th instead of 13th Oct.
